Traditional Dancers

Shalom Christian College actively encourages our students to embrace their cultural heritage by providing opportunities for students to practice and share traditional dances. The school employs Cultural Liaison Staff from remote and regional communities to support young peoples’ cultural connections and encourages opportunities for students to perform in the local community as well as at some community festivals.

Participation is encouraged with students often wishing to understand and learn traditional dances from other cultures. Each year Shalom holds a NAIDOC Day Celebration which is an exciting opportunity for students to share their culture with their peers and the wider community.

Shalom is exceptionally proud of all of its dancers for the way in which they represent themselves, their culture, their home communities, and the College. These dancers are becoming well known in the local community.
