Community Liaison Officer

Shalom Christian College has Community Liaison Officers (LOs) employed to support young people with transitions, education and health needs. The LOs work with students' families, communities and staff to support students. They monitor student attendance, liaise regularly with parents/caregivers and communities and work together with the College's Parents and Community Committee to help young people focus on their education and healthy lifestyle choices.

  • Supervise students in the school grounds
  • Direct students to classroom each lesson
  • Speak with students, families and communities about student's progress
  • Support school staff with student behaviour and engagement concerns
  • Support families and communities to work with school staff to support their young people
  • Assist with student assessment on enrolment
  • Cultural support through regional liaison officers
  • Attendance monitoring and support
  • Liaison officers employed from remote communities to provide relevant cultural knowledge and support to all students
